Kitezh-Orion

We are excited to announce a new development for Kitezh Children's Villages in Russia: land was secured and we are building a second village for foster families and orphan children, named Orion.

The land in 2004
Now it is already a village.

Orion

Orion's first house

Orion is located in Kaluga Region an hour out of Moscow and two hours from Kitezh Community. It will be home for 10-15 new foster families and 30-50 orphan children.
Spearheaded by Dmitry Morozov, the founder of Kitezh Children's Community, and young adults who were raised at Kitezh, Orion is the first step towards creating a network of children's communities that take orphan children out of institutions to give them a family, an education and a real chance in life.
In summer 2005 Kitezh graduates and their student friends built another two houses themselves!

They plan to live and work in Orion once they have completed their studies, to help other children in the way that Kitezh helped them.

The Education Centre is now under construction.

This centre will provide a space for classrooms, recreation and sports facilities, and a theatre. We welcome your support for this great initiative that improves the lives of increasing numbers of Russian orphans.
