5. Is Kitezh a religious
community?
No.
However, Kitezh is tolerant of all religious beliefs, and has a deep
understanding of the importance of religious and/or spiritual
convictions.
6. Why would somebody choose to
give up their job, move to a rural part of
Russia
, and
foster traumatized children?
Sergey Khlopenov is Head of the
Community “To feel that my life is connected with a greater purpose. Our work with orphan children and their
problems gives meaning to our lives.”
Adults who want to
live and work at Kitezh have a 6 to 12 month trial period, before
becoming members of the community. They
cannot become foster parents until they have been voted in by the other
members of Kitezh.
7.How do I know what my money will be spent on?
Donors
can choose to make a donation to a specific project. Otherwise
their donation will be used in the best interests of Kitezh at that
particular time. You can visit Kitezh, and see how the donations
are being used.
